Don’t set off firecrackers, cops warn football fans July 28, 2008

SHAH ALAM: Action will be taken against anyone who sets off firecrackers during the football friendly between Malaysia and Chelsea at the Shah Alam stadium on Tuesday.

Selangor public order and traffic police chief Superintendent Che Hussein Omar said yesterday Special Branch personnel and detectives would be seated among the spectators to nab any culprits.He said police would also be on guard against a planned demonstration by a political party which opposed the sponsorship of Chelsea’s visit by a beer company.
A total of 420 police personnel will be on duty, aided by 50 Rela members and 50 Shah Alam City Council enforcement officers.

 

 

 

Che Hussein advised the public to use public transport to get to the venue, adding that compound fines of up to RM300 would be issued to motorists who parked along the main road or at the road shoulder. Only vehicles with red, blue and yellow stickers are allowed to park near the stadium. — Bernama

 

 

SUMMARY

Special Branch personnel and detectives would be seated among the spectators to nab any culprits. Then action will be taken against anyone who sets off firecrackers during the football friendly between Malaysia and Chelsea at the Shah Alam stadium on Tuesday.
